Seven years after the devastating earthquake disaster in northeastern Japan, the JDZB is dedicating itself to two exhibitions, each consisting of documentary photographs, but in different contexts: The photo series “Tsukuba-Narita 2011/03/13” shows photographs taken by Jens Liebchen two days after the triple disaster in March 2011 in northeastern Japan on his way to Narita Airport. Through the windows of the bus, the images reflect the journey and the mood of those days, just like in a road movie. On the other hand, Ingrid Mackensen, PhD student at the University of Munich (LMU), presents architectural aid projects after the disaster, in which the residents were actively involved. Thus, the project served not only the reconstruction through spatial redesign, but also the social rehabilitation of those affected.

PR Info _ Sieben Jahre nach der verheerenden Erdbebenkatastrophe in Nordosten Japans widmet sich das JDZB gleich zwei Ausstellungen, die jeweils aus dokumentarischen Fotografien bestehen, jedoch in unterschiedlichem Kontext stehen.

Die Fotoserie “Tsukuba-Narita 2011/03/13” zeigt Aufnahmen, die der Künstler Jens Liebchen zwei Tage nach der Dreifachkatastrophe im März 2011 in Nordostjapan, auf seiner Fahrt zum Flughafen Narita festgehalten hatte. Durch die Scheiben des Busses spiegeln die Bilder wie in einem Road Movie die Fahrt und zugleich die Stimmung von damals wider.
Dagegen stellt Ingrid Mackensen, Doktorandin an der Universität München (LMU), architektonische Hilfsprojekte nach der Katastrophe vor, an der die Bewohner aktiv beteiligt waren. Somit diente das Projekt nicht nur dem Wiederaufbau durch räumliche Neugestaltung, sondern auch der gesellschaftlichen Rehabilitation der Betroffenen.
